EYEWEAR TREND: THE TWO-TONE Frame

A two-tone frame is just about the perfect pair of glasses for any face shape.  They come in so many different shapes, sizes, and designs that the options are endless.  The stark contrast in the top of the glasses to the bottom balances out both angular and round facial features.

We have seen a lot of two-tone glasses come in from the designers we carry, with the demand to match.  People are loving how these unique glasses have that stand-out appeal.

Fashionista and actor Chloë Sevigny is one of the celebrities that sports this eyeglass style with ease.  Understated or impactful, depending on what she is wearing, we can see why these are her signature frames.

Why Pay When You Don’t Have To?

Purchasing new glasses is an important investment not only for your vision health, but for your personal style.  It is recommended to get your eyes tested every 2 years to make sure you have the correct prescription.  We recommend purchasing new glasses every two years to keep current with the latest eyewear trends.  Although most insurance companies cover vision care, the immediate out of pocket expense can sometimes be inconvenient.

Optimized-WHY PAY (3)

That is why we work directly with many of the insurance providers to provide a no money down service to our clients.  Contact us to find out if we can bill your insurance company directly, so there is no money out of your pocket.  After all, why pay for glasses when you don’t have to?

Casual or Glamorous? Finding Your Perfect Sunglass Style

When it comes to buying sunglasses, there are three things that you should consider before buying:

1. Fit

2. Feel

3. Functionality

Last week we had the opportunity to spend a day with Ophthalmic Assistant and model Stacey, as she toured Toronto and tested out a couple of our designer frames for the day.

Stacey was stuck between whether or not she wanted to invest in a casual frame (blue mirrored Ray-Ban Aviators) or a more glamorous frame (Ralph Lauren Cat Eye).

Both frames fit her exceptionally well, so it was down to feel and functionality.

Ray-Ban Aviators

Q: How do the Ray-Ban Aviators fit, feel and function for you?

After adjusting the arms of the Ray-Ban’s slightly, they fit great!  The frames are super light-weight and feel very natural on the face.  Function-wise, I love how they match a lot of my summer clothes. They are great for suntanning and other casual outdoor activities.  The polarized lenses provide a vibrant filter for the sun, so everything still looks pretty natural.

Ralph Lauren Cat Eye

Q: The Ralph Lauren Cat Eye sunglasses are completely different from the Ray-Ban Aviators.  What do you think of the fit, feel and functionality of these frames?

I love the fit of these sunglasses!  These frames instantly add a touch of glamour to my look.  These frames are also light weight and sit comfortably on my face.  I think they are going to be perfect for outdoor events and patio brunches.  I like that they look good with my hair up or down.  Very versatile and trés chic! I’m thinking I will be adding these ones to my collection!

See It, Touch It, Feel It. The 3 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Buy Eyewear Online

There is no doubt that the internet makes life faster and more convenient.  Shopping online can be a great way to find what you are looking for.  Recently we have seen a trend in online eyewear stores that let you “virtually” try on glasses and purchase them for a seemingly lower rate.  Here are three reasons why we think it is important to shop in store when it comes to eyewear.

1. See It

2. Touch It

The one thing that we have that the internet doesn’t is the ability to physically pick up the frames and try them on.  We encourage you to try on as many frames as you like.  Our team is good at helping determine which types of frames will best suit your face.  Feel free to bring a friend for a second opinion, we want to make sure you love your eyewear.

3. Feel It

The eyewear you purchase may need to be adjusted to better fit your face.  We have the expertise to do that in store, and will make sure your new frames feel great on your face.

By visiting us in store, you can see, touch and feel the quality of our lenses, contact lenses and designer frames.  Our in store eye exams and same day service makes shopping for eyewear easy and convenient.
